MPL Training - from Humble Beginnings to Industry Leaders
At MPL Locksmith Training, our story is one of passion, innovation, and dedication to excellence. With over 50 years of combined experience in the locksmithing industry, we’ve grown from a single small training session to become one of the UK’s leading providers of locksmith security training.
How it all Began
Around 15 years ago, our founder ‘Graham Jones’ was working in our trade centre in Wakefield when a self-employed gardener approached him with an unusual request. The gardener wanted to expand his services and asked to be taught locksmithing. That first training session, held in a small upstairs room, sparked an idea that would transform the industry – the creation of the MPL Locksmith Training School.
What started as a service for local locksmiths and career changers quickly grew. We began teaching others how to open high-security locks using non-destructive methods, and our reputation spread. Soon, housing associations, police forces, and building companies were approaching us for specialized training.
A Commitment to Excellence
Seven years ago, MPL Locksmith Training achieved a milestone that set us apart: we were awarded a City & Guilds accreditation, becoming the only locksmith training company in the world to receive this prestigious recognition. This achievement is a testament to our unwavering commitment to delivering the highest-quality training.
Today, we operate from a state-of-the-art academy, offering 13 different locksmithing courses, with new programs constantly being developed. As demand continues to grow, we are exploring new premises to ensure we can accommodate everyone who wants to learn.
