Huge Potential Opportunities for Trained Locksmiths in Edinburgh

Burglary and vehicle crime remain constant concerns in Edinburgh, with residents and businesses seeking effective security measures to protect their properties.
As the capital of Scotland, it should come as no surprise that Edinburgh is one of the most opulent cities in the country. With such a large population for Scotland, though, it should come as little surprise that Edinburgh also contains some of the highest rates of crime in Scotland.
Regular crimes are reported, with worrying numbers of shoplifting, theft, burglary and especially weapons crimes. People looking to stay safe in Edinburgh look to invest in high-security protection. To do so, they hire respected locksmith professionals in the city and nearby to help them stay safe.
One example of a highly in-demand security service in Edinburgh includes locksmiths. Locksmiths are always in demand in Edinburgh because people want to help keep their property safe and keep themselves victim-free when it comes to crime. By training as a locksmith with MPL, you can soon join the ranks of the city’s locksmithing industry and start supporting people locally.
The joy of being a locksmith is that you get to enjoy a much more varied day-to-day work life. Other trades see you repeat the same job over and over; with locksmithing, that is not the case. You could train as a residential locksmith, where you install high-security lock systems or repair locks damaged during break-ins and vandalism. Or, you could be an emergency locksmith who gives people relief when they get locked out. Others trade in sectors such as commercial locksmithing, where you install master key entry or access control entry systems into Edinburgh’s various offices and storefronts. Others even move into areas like auto locksmithing, uPVC window and door locks or repairing broken car locks.
You can have many ways to work as a locksmith, which is part of the joy of the job. You get to enjoy much more freedom than others, and with MPL Locksmith & Security Training, you can continue to add to your skills. Learn new locksmithing techniques, develop skills you do not already have, and make sure you can continue to move up the ladder. Work for yourself or subcontract your skills to others, such as the Edinburgh police force and other local locksmiths. The choice is yours!
With the help of our team at MPL, you can start developing your skills and moving into new areas of locksmithing. Contact 01924 693293 to start an exciting future.

Connect Housing
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Nicky England and MPL for the fantastic service they provided for locksmith training. At each step of the process they were courteous and very well organised. I sent 5 of my technicians on the 3 day course and it has proven to be not only an enhancement of my teams skills but also a huge saving by being able to gain entry to our housing stock non destructively.
I would recommend MPL to any other customer and give their service delivery and training methods 10/10.
Bill
Ashton Pioneer Homes

I sent two of my operatives to MPL for locksmith training. The training was excellent and they have been able to put this in to good use. It has shortened the time taken for evictions and helped us portray a more professional image in front of bailiffs and other staff.
I would highly recommend them for training and for purchasing the right tools.

Frequently asked questions
How long does it take to train to become a locksmith?
After your initial 3 or 5-Day training, it can usually take a further 12 months to become an experienced locksmith. You will always learn on the job, and you will always have to keep up to date with new products and industry related standards such as lock standards.
The easiest way to begin your new locksmithing career is by attending our comprehensive 3 or 5-Day Locksmith Course which is perfect for beginners who are looking to learn how to become a locksmith within one week. Many of our students have gone on to set up their own locksmithing business immediately after course completion.
I am new to locksmithing, do I need any qualifications to train as a locksmith?
Whilst you don’t need any qualifications to train, you need a desire and a commitment to learn. It always helps if you come from a manual job or background and that you’re used to working with the tools you’ll need.
What course should I take if I'm a complete beginner to locksmithing?
If you are new to locksmithing and aren’t familiar with the tools and manual work, we suggest you undertake our comprehensive 5 day City & Guilds/NCFE Specialist Courses as this will provide you extra time and any additional help you may need.
How much does locksmith training cost?
Our courses vary in price subject to course detail and training days required. Please to call us on 01924 693293 with any questions on the latest prices and availability or fill in our enquiry form.
Are your Accreditations and Certificates recognised?
We are the UK’s ONLY provider of officially Accredited City & Guilds and NCFE Certified locksmith courses. Our accreditations recognise the high standards, process and delivery of bespoke training programmes which no other provider in the UK can offer.
In addition, we also run a range of courses which upon completion students receive our MPL certificate, which because we are the largest training provider in the UK is recognised throughout the industry as the gold standard.
Do I have to be a member of any trade organisations?
No, these organisations tend to be private Ltd companies who are attempting to charge for membership. It is not compulsory to be a member; at the time of writing there are no governing bodies in this industry in the UK.
