The trainers are brilliant and have a wealth of experience. Their delivery is laid back but makes you feel fully included. The only negative point is that there is so much information to absorb it does take a while to get your head around it.

1 word Amazing!!!!
The tutor was great. Had a great balance of making it fun while learning.
I learnt so much over the 5 days. I feel confident to just get started.
I love that they help you start up your buisiness and are there to help you with a 24/7 helpline.
The staff was all kind and looked after us the whole duration of the course.

I did the 5 day City & Guilds locksmith course at MPL in January. I went from knowing hardly anything to being able to set up my own operation and it's been going well ever since.
The class sizec as small so you got plenty of one on one time with the tutors, the ladies who sort all the admin and enquiries were very friendly and excellent at what they do getting all your certificates and start up tools organised.
The lunch provided each day was great too.
Overall I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this course or MPL as a training company.

I booked 2 weeks ago and paid the 20% to secure a place in February 2026 for the locksmith 5 day course. Due to unforeseen circumstances, I got made redundant from my role, as you can imagine, with a small family I was panicking. I wasn't accepted for their repayment plan so I was founding this course on my own. When I contacted Jackie to explain this the only option I was given was to rebook a different date rather than cancel. I expressed I can not do that as now I don't know when I will be employed again to then make sure I get the money together for the course. They did offer me a 30% refund however, I gave more than enough notice 5 months and that is all they could offer. My wife then called to explain our circumstances to see if there was anything more they could do. Due to my mental health I am really struggling to have the energy to deal with all this as I am the person in our household to pay our bills. I understand that I wouldn't be able to get all my money back but atleast a little more due to the amount of time given as notice and for my circumstances. Jackie said she was the decision maker on this and 30% was more than enough. She was not empathetic towards my wife and our circumstances. All I will say is, if you book in this course and anything outside of your power goes wrong e.g. lose your job or a family emergency, they will not have any empathy and give hardly any compensation back for the hard earned money you have paid them. It's such a shame as there reviews is what made me want to book with them. Clearly I was mistaken. In the current economic climate they are just another company wanting your money and keeping it for doing the bare minimum. Even with holidays if you give enough notice you get compensated refunds depending on the notice period. Such a shame

Outstanding Training Experience – Fully NCFE & City & Guilds Certified
I recently completed a training course that was certified by both NCFE and City & Guilds, and I can confidently say it exceeded all expectations. From start to finish, the course was well-structured, professionally delivered, and packed with industry-relevant content.
The tutor was highly knowledgeable, approachable, and genuinely passionate about helping students succeed. The materials were clear, up-to-date, and supported by real-world applications that made learning practical and engaging.
Having both NCFE and City & Guilds accreditation gave me complete confidence in the quality and credibility of the training. These respected bodies are known for their high standards, and this course absolutely lived up to that reputation. The certification has already opened new doors for me professionally and given me a solid foundation to build on.
If you’re looking for a trusted, recognised qualification that will truly enhance your skills and career prospects, I highly recommend this course. It’s a worthwhile investment in your future!
Big thanks to Mark and the MPL team love Duane.

This company demonstrates blatant racism in their hiring practices. I applied and spoke with a customer service representative about my situation, which includes a criminal record from 13 years ago. Despite the fact that they should only be looking at basic background checks, they refused my entry into the course solely based on my past. I complied with all their requirements and was willing to pay for the course, yet they canceled my enrollment. Their actions are unjust and discriminatory. I do not recommend this company because of the racism.

After looking around at various locksmith training courses across the country it was very clear to me that MPL Wakefield was the centre I wanted to enrol with. The website explained everything that I needed to know about what they had to offer. I phoned the center to get a little more info regarding booking dates etc and they couldn't of been any more helpful at all. Even after my call I didn't get any unwanted phone calls to hassle me to enrolling.
My training course began on 16th June '25' & from the get go it was just an brilliant experience. All the ladies in the office welcome you in, making sure you are settling in ok, sorting out your lunch requirements, letting you about the facilities and any other info you need regarding the course or what Wakefield had to offer after class.
My instructor for the week was Marc, you could not wish to meet a nicer guy. After hour of meeting Marc I felt like I had known Marc for years. Once you do the meet & greet, explain your knowledge you get straight into your first training task.
Every task you do is explained very clearly of how to tackle that task. When working with the tools you are shown exactly what to do and with no pressure put on yourself to complete that in a quick time. Any guidance you require is there instantly, every question is answered so you understand it completely.
Everyday you are served a lovely lunch that you select from the menu, it caters for everyone. There is refreshments anytime of day to add
When the course ends you are given a 100% back up service that if you need tools, advice or any other services it is there for you.
Marc, the ladies from the office are a credit to MPL.
I have and will recommend MPL to anyone who wishes to become a locksmith as this centre is definitely the place to come.

I really enjoyed the 5-day locksmithing course. I travelled from Barcelona, Spain to attend, and the staff went out of their way to make my stay as smooth and comfortable as possible. The food provided was much better than I expected, and the hands-on approach was fantastic — we got to work with a wide variety of locks throughout the course.
Marc was a great instructor. He clearly demonstrated each method, guided us through the process, and then gave us the chance to try everything on our own. It was a perfect balance of instruction and independent practice.
I can’t recommend this course highly enough!

Id like to firstly thank the staff for making me feel welcome, they couldn't do enough for you. My trainer, Mark, was obviously a very skilled locksmith and delivered the training in a fun and informative manner. I feel like I will mirror these skills on a weekly basis. Which will allow me to gain entry in a non invasive manner which I was unable of prior. I overall enjoyed it and it was a great experience. Thank you all very much

Attended for the 5 day City & Guilds course last month. I had no prior experience or knowledge of locks or locksmithing but after doing this course I feel confident to go out and do it for real. Would recommend to anyone looking to break in (no pun intended) to the locksmith business.

I completed the 5 day city and guilds ncfc course.
The teacher was Marc. He was very helpful, knowledgeable, and engaging. Ethan from the shop was also very helpful, I contact him regularly for products. Chelsea from HR was also brilliant in advising about the course.
The good thing about MPL is that once you get certified from there, you are a member of the trade club at the shop, which gives you 10% off from all products.
Another advantage of studying locksmithing at MPL is that you get City and Guilds accreditation. It's currently the only centre in the UK that offers the highly respected City and Guilds accreditation.

Dave
Connect Housing
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Nicky England and MPL for the fantastic service they provided for locksmith training. At each step of the process they were courteous and very well organised. I sent 5 of my technicians on the 3 day course and it has proven to be not only an enhancement of my teams skills but also a huge saving by being able to gain entry to our housing stock non destructively.
I would recommend MPL to any other customer and give their service delivery and training methods 10/10.
Bill
Ashton Pioneer Homes
I sent two of my operatives to MPL for locksmith training. The training was excellent and they have been able to put this in to good use. It has shortened the time taken for evictions and helped us portray a more professional image in front of bailiffs and other staff.
I would highly recommend them for training and for purchasing the right tools.
