Here at MPL, we’re a firm believer in practice makes perfect. From our extensive experience in training locksmiths from across the country, we maintain that the best way to learn is through hands-on experience.
Putting this into practice, you’ll spend these 2 days handling essential equipment and installing various types of locks in our workshop following comprehensive demonstrations from your trainer. Plus, to help keep you safe on the job and ensure you remain compliant with rules and regulations, we’ll cover all the essential health and safety procedures relevant to lock installations.
We’ll cover all the methods you’ll come across in the real world, including mortice machines and jigs, as well as the most popular lock systems and brands. We’ll cover the basics of imperial and metric measurements, giving you the knowledge needed to measure up and fit locks successfully. Plus, we’ll look at pre-installation tasks including marking out and drilling, etc, so you can go from A to B with ease.
Throughout the 2 days with us, you’ll spend plenty of time using vital equipment that you’ll be reaching for in the field, including marking tools and chisels, auger bits, twist bits, spade bits, and more.
At the end of each day, we’ll take some time to answer any questions you may have and wrap up the session with a recap so you can consolidate the knowledge you’ve learned over the course of the day.
