MPL, a Wakefield-based provider of locksmith training courses and trade supplies, will be focusing on means of safe access to properties on their stand (M21) at the forthcoming Emergency Services Show (NEC, Sept 20-21).

Supplying specialist locksmith tools
MPL is currently supplying an ever growing number of UK emergency services with specialist locksmith tools that can enable safe access to a property within just 2 minutes as well as providing trained locksmiths for Police raids through a link with the Grimsby-based Shoreline housing association.
Nicky England, MPL Director, commented: “We’re delighted to be attending ESS for a second consecutive year and see it as a great way of raising awareness of the ways in which our locksmith training courses and the tools of the trade can be used to reduce or eliminate the damage caused by forced entry.
For instance the Bell lock puller is a special tool, developed for locksmiths and governmental agencies, that allows for the easy and efficient removal of any type of cylinder lock. It allows the fast opening of doors without damaging the door or the door guard.
We also supply some emergency services with a more basic kit that includes the QA Pro 2 pulling device that is capable of opening door in less than 20 seconds. This makes it the perfect pulling tool for authorities and rescue forces worldwide, since it guarantees a safe, fault-tolerant and simple handling.
MPL promises to save your association money with replacement cylinders
The amount of damage caused by forced entry can often run into hundreds of pounds. Using our lock puller kits results in far less damage. Frequently this can result in just £4 for a replacement cylinder.
We’ve been helping to tackle a similar issue with Shoreline Housing in Grimsby, just one of a number of organisations we have worked with. By training up a number of their staff as locksmiths they are now able to accompany Humberside Police on raids and negate the need to bash down doors.
“We are the only locksmith training provider in the UK to offer City & Guilds accreditation. That’s a seal of approval that counts for a lot and we have accredited over 200 individuals, including many former members of the Emergency Services, since gaining City & Guilds status in January 2016,” added Nicky.
